it all starts with the first day:)

i was actually encouraged by the blog written in the primer to blog about my first day at med school. though the primer given was actually for freshies and i dont think i should consider myself as one, considering that i have already finished a four-year course:)) and i'm older by five years from the first year students who were with us in the university orientation today.

besides, as i often blog about memorable experiences in my life, i might as well include this day considering that i actually had a number of realizations with the events that happened today, as well.

i honestly don't know when it all started, i think i made a blog about deciding to enter med school, so perhaps that's where everything started, pero the real deal of studying to become a good doctor, actually started today. :)

today was actually a weird day for me cause as much as i don't want to consider myself as a first year student, i am actually one in a whole new environment, which is the UP College of Medicine. as what the chair of the medstudent council said once, we are actually the "babies" of the college.

anyway, my first day started with my trip to UP Manila. people were actually worried about me staying quite far from school, but i think i can manage, more than renting a place near school since i don't like to try to live alone. unless of course, med school really started killing me that i can no longer commute, then i guess, i'd have no choice:))

there was the university orientation in the morning where there were speeches and there were presentations from several organizations. again, it was weird since i already attended one five years ago in UP Diliman. but in this particular event, i actually had a great realization from everything that happened, which is remembering what an iskolar ng bayan truly means - bilang iskolar ng bayan, meron kang obligasyon sa bayan:)  i do hope, that i'd be able to remember this always, in the five-year course of studying and not forget that i am continually learning and honing my skills for the Filipino people in the Philippines:)

then there was lunch. one of my worries actually in entering medschool is gaining new friends. hehe. and i think, i did fair enough for the first day of classes since i've met quite a number of people already :))

the welcome celebration from the college was the main event in the afternoon. what the guest speaker discussed was really something to think about. it's a very noble path to take, though i'm not sure if i am ready yet, as early as now. so maybe, we'll see.

then falling in line to get a sticker for my id and countersigned in the library. some alone time which usually occurs often na. hehe. and the buddy dinner with the regionalization students organization. it was fun meeting new people:) especially those who consider you(me) as part of their family and presenting themselves as a support group that will help you(me) get through:)

and lastly, there was the trip home. and i began to wonder, why the path going back is always a shorter and faster way than when you're going to it..

tadaaa!:P

basically, that's it. :)
five years is a long time to actually start planning ahead of what i really want. a lot of new things will definitely happen. that there is only one thing certain, and that is, as my fb stat says - to take this journey, one day at a time:)

gooo me:D

P.S. i have to think first if i feel like posting this note in my facebook page:)))

and things will start to change..

to start it all: my hair! haha. it's short now. like kindergarten short. haha. i like it. and i wanted to have my hair cut since summer, but because of grad pictorials, i need to postpone it. and grad pictorials are done - and i don't want to postpone it any longer. haha. so i had my hair cut yesterday afternoon after watching the Agnes of God play with my brother. (i have no decent pictures yet so you need to see me personally if you want to see it. i feel weird. i think it looks weird. haha.) and so everything follows. *** change is something inevitable. a natural phenomenon that would definitely happen in one way or another. we can't stop it (i think) but we can postpone it and i think i've postponed "that" inevitable change for too long now, and I have no other choice but to let it happen. i've already felt the urge to remove that something from my system at the start of the sem (as the change im talking about). well, i knew i need to deal wi...

a sad day.

i was a messenger last tuesday for my mom. she asked me to whisper a message to my tita. and just this afternoon, while i was in the lab for thesis, my mother texted me that tita lita is gone. it was quite expected, since this has been her third time in the past 3 months to be hospitalized. her third time that transfusion is needed. and of the three times, maybe this was the worst. *** she has given a lot to others. to her parents, her siblings and to us, her nephews and nieces. i was able to live with her for three years during high school and i have a lot of things to thank her for. I'm not that sure if she knows how grateful i am that i was able to stay with her during those times. looking back i would not have chosen any other place to stay for high school apart from hers. no matter how far paranaque may be in manila. i would never forget the mornings where she would wake up early too since i need to be at school early and she would stay late in pnu since our classe...
