At first i thought that the five months after graduation were the hardest months of my life. I finished college but i need to focus on reviewing for the board exam, which is really difficult considering my very short attention span for my beloved chemistry subjects. There's stress in studying, dealing with the requirements of the review center, applying for the board exam, the exam itself and of course, waiting for the results.
Thank God I passed. Passing the chemistry licensure exam, apart from the pride and thought of accomplishing something at a very young age, gave me the true fulfillment of having a BS Chemistry degree. Now i sort of have the legal permission to apply whatever knowledge and techniques that i have learned in the four years of studying chem and apply whatever life lessons i gained in the 20 years of my existence for whatever type of real world that is waiting for me.
Now i can say that i've really reached the finish line for college education and soon the stress from job hunting, job interviews and from waiting for a decent company to hire me would definitely come. But before dwelling on my fears for the future, id like to thank a few people who helped me all through the four to five months before the board exam.
1. The Almighty God and all the angels and saints (St. Jude, Mama Mary and St. Claire) who have helped me and my friends through all those months. Personally, i think that i have grown more spiritually in the last four months than in my 20 years of living. They have not failed us and thus i would continue to praise their name and give Them glory.
2. My family - mama, papa and bam:) they are the people who would always be proud of me :) and i know that no matter how unappreciative they seem to be sometimes, i understand that they just think that i can do better. I dont feel sad anymore with these issues, i know i did my best and im proud of what i was able to achieve. :)
3. My friends and batchmates especially kate and me-an (sige si OG na din :P), kate and me-an were my prayermates:) And we have always been friends since high school, i mean 1st year college. And now, it's nice to know that we are all ready to move forward. :) Together or not, i know we would always be friends, no matter what:)
4. Brains review center - i'd like to thank this review center for i have learned more in the last four months than in my four year stay in UP. :P I now understand that the pressure you were constantly giving us is for us to do our best and for us to maximize our potentials.
5. Institute of Chemistry, UP Diliman - my alma mater, and my 2nd home for four long, struggling, difficult years. Yes the four years were longer than they should be because chemistry was never an easy subject. But now that i look back, the four years were still longer than they should be, academically. hehehe. Socially though, the 4-year stay was very short. I could have gained more friends and could have learned more about life. IC also includes all my professors and instructors who have tried their best to fill my brain with chemistry stuff. haha.
6. UP Chemical Society - for the support always and forever. The two or three visits at the tambayan these last months has never failed to make me smile and at least forget whatever heavy burden i have. makatira na nga sa tambayan. haha.
7. My other friends, family and prayer warriors - for constantly supporting me and giving me hope. for praying with me and for me. thank you very much:)
8. Facebook, plurk, twitter for keeping me sane until three weeks before the board exam. and while waiting for the results. haha.
9. Robert Edward Cruz, my bestfriend (even if you dont acknowledge it. hehe.) and (ex)boyfriend rolled into one. For being my shock absorber and my stress reliever. Thank you for staying with me until the end no matter how immature, stubborn and demanding i get. Somewhere along the way, we made a wrong turn and can't manage to go back. It's sad but maybe it's really for the best right now. You will always have a special place in my heart and i will always be andie's ninang. haha.
10. Myself. haha. I'd like to thank myself because i did a great job of coping with the stress. haha. For being disciplined most of the time and for doing my best. hahaha.
right now. i can see my life as an intersection where choosing the road that i would take would definitely affect my future and unfortunately i don't know which of the roads is the right one for me and the road of God's will. thus im continuously praying that He would give me guidance and strength to finish this journey in His will.
lastly, cheers to all my friends, and batchmates who also passed the board exam. i do hope that our friendship and the bond that we shared in the four years within the walls of the Institute of Chemistry would remain as long as we shall live :) more cheers for those who made it to the top 10, you have never failed to make us proud :)
now, it's time for us to move forward :D as mam dimaano said, the time has passed for our school to carry us, now it's our turn to carry the name of our school.:)
