Hello after Davao!:)
the past week was epic.
there are no other words to describe it. it was a lot of firsts - first rafting and diving and the first time to do a lot of things with a big group of people outside school. The first two firsts can be found on a separate entry because they were more special :p
We were 20 medical students who went on a trip to Davao, to study the management of the laboratories and the hospitals as well. and we learned a lot, but the management knowledge, skills and attitudes that we got along the way was just a bonus. because what really mattered was the ultimate bonding experience that we had as one block :)
Day 01
It was not my first time in Davao. but it was my first time to go there with friends. We were 19 friends on the plane, and so you can imagine how chaotic it was. but it was really fun :) We were welcomed by the Davao haciendero :p who welcomed us in their lovely house, and with a sumptuous meal cooked by his mother (and we can never be thankful enough!) We were supposed to do wakeboarding, but because of our kabagalan and the weather not cooperating, we were only able to go to TPEC: The Philippine Eagle Center. It was actually funny since it was also raining when I first went to see the eagles, and it was raining again, that day, that I again failed to fully appreciate the beauty of the place. We ate out like one big happy family. magulo pero masaya. :)
Day 02
Rafting!
Day 03 and 04
hospital days :)
We visited 2 hospitals, Southern Philippine Medical Center and Davao Doctors Hospital.
SPMC was a great hospital for a government hospital and DDH gave us a hard time to gather data being a private corporation.
And every night was work session night. It was tiring. really. more tiring than the rafting day but we learned a lot. :)
Day 05
Island hopping!
We hopped into three islands and on the first island we tried diving! well 8 of us :) which was a different story all together because diving and rafting both deserve a separate entry :p
There was also snorkeling and kayaking. and picture taking on the beach. And did I mention how big and nice our boat was. It was a nice boat for a whole family and we were like a big family on that boat as well. We had our own cooked lunch (Great job to the food committee!).
It was really a great reward after two tiring days of trying to understand something which was taught to us for one whole week. or i may just be rationalizing. :p
There was a work session that night, but a lot of the people are asleep already. It may have been tiring, but I honestly felt more tired doing the interviews during the hospital days than a whole day of trying to appreciate the beauty of Davao beaches :)
Day 06
We were supposed to go and visit the Samal Island, where we can visit the Maxima and try the longest slide, but the work that we have to do is greater than our desire for something fun and exciting. And so we had a morning work session and went to the city for some pasalubong buying. :)
We had our last supper and went to the airport.
Upon getting back we had to finalize our presentations for the next day. And well, you can expect from all my stories that the panel was not satisfied. or so I think.
pero sabi ko nga sa status message ko,
"..dahil malimutan man natin ang management knowledge; ang life and nature appreciation lessons, the evolutions, balikbayan blockmates, the songs, the Super Juon stories and every bonding moment will surely stay. :)"
SuJu is love. <3
and it breaks my heart to think na next year we won't be one whole block anymore next year. but then again, those 19 faces surely made it to my special people list :D and yes, I am being SuJu sick :p
