Christmas Break 2012 (Part 1)

Christmas break last 2012, was definitely different and yet one of the best that I've had and writing about it has always been what I wanted to do. And today *party poppers* is that day that I can write and recount my wonderful experiences in the most recent holiday that I will surely miss :)

Let us start with the first day of the holiday. :)

December 15: Lolo Tony and Lola Claire's 50th wedding celebration: A Renewal of Vows

Lolo Tony and Lola Claire are Andie's (my inaanak) grandparents in her father side. And I was invited to their 50th wedding anniversary. I was more than willing to go (even, telling my parents way way beforehand, that I was personally invited and that I cannot go home immediately since classes would be done on the 13th). Reasons for being very intent in going include the following:

(1) i love weddings. they give me that warm fuzzy feeling thus, what more a wedding to celebrate a marriage that has survived 50 years. A marriage which has done a wonderful job of building a great family because they have such immense love that they were able to share with the people around them :)

(2) Renewal of vows is close to my heart. The last renewal of vows that I was able to witness (and not even in person) was that of my grandparents a few years back. Lola had lymphoma. and we were all preparing for their 50th wedding anniversary but we were not able to celebrate it anymore, because she passed away. She passed away after they were able to renew their marriage vows.. in her deathbed. It still gets me teary eyed whenever I remember the video that my brother made to record those final moments of such great love. And i think it's time to make new memories with the words vow renewal. :)

(3) finally, my parents would soon be having their 25th wedding anniversary (yes im turning 25. whaaaat.)  and although i doubt that we will be able to celebrate their 25th year anniversary in a grand way of wedding and receptions, because i am still studying. It is just nice to at least have an idea of what happens during the renewal of vows. It's something that I can use in their 50th wedding anniversary, when I am already 50 years old and hopefully successful in life.

Photo: happy 50th wedding anniversary to my loving grandparents. thank you for being a good shepherd to our family. may God bless you always and long live to both of you. we love you very much :D

Of course, I was with my best friend :)

December 16. Meet up with College Buddies

College seems so far away. The things I know from Chemistry is slowly fading away and being replaced by things I need once I am a fully practicing medical doctor. But the friendship I made with these people from Chem will forever be always near in my heart. And i am more than thankful for these few hours of being able to catch-up, eat and sing videoke. More of this this year!:)

December 17-22 in Mindoro

I went home alone on the 17th. quite anxious of the experience that I will be having this Christmas in Mindoro since my brother is not with me anymore. It usually is more enjoyable if we are complete. To cut the long story short, I did survive my stay. Although it mostly comprised of eating, sleeping, and going to Mass. I was able to finish 2 books during this week :) The Fault in Our Stars by John Green which was Robert's Christmas gift and The Hobbit in my Ipad :) I was also more than happy to be able to survive my parents' pagpipilit na magduty sa ospital. And up to now I am still confused on what I have to feel on this. I know that I need it and that this would actually help me. But at the same time, I have this twisted reasoning of 'gagawin ko na siya for the rest of my life, wont you give me some 1 week hospital free vacation?'. and same dilemma will definitely face me this summer. *crossfingers*

We also celebrated the District Hospital's Christmas Party on the Doomsday where I was one of the judges for their activities. And of course, we danced the Gangnam Style. And as I said a few status-es back: 'These are among the things you do for your parents'.

Judges during the Christmas Party. With Tito and Titas who are family friends. and Mama and Papa at the back :D

no gangnam pictures. just because. :p

December 23: Robert's Birthday

We went back to Manila on the night of December 22. I was planning to surprise my best friend by coming over at their place for his birthday since this will be the first time that I will be celebrating with him on his special day. Unfortunately, my parents wanted to come and see him and party with them as well. So off we went to Bulacan, without the surprise, but I'm sure he was surprised as well :p

with Andie, Ago and froggy - people who make Robert's life, happy. yey. :p

and things will start to change..

to start it all: my hair! haha. it's short now. like kindergarten short. haha. i like it. and i wanted to have my hair cut since summer, but because of grad pictorials, i need to postpone it. and grad pictorials are done - and i don't want to postpone it any longer. haha. so i had my hair cut yesterday afternoon after watching the Agnes of God play with my brother. (i have no decent pictures yet so you need to see me personally if you want to see it. i feel weird. i think it looks weird. haha.) and so everything follows. *** change is something inevitable. a natural phenomenon that would definitely happen in one way or another. we can't stop it (i think) but we can postpone it and i think i've postponed "that" inevitable change for too long now, and I have no other choice but to let it happen. i've already felt the urge to remove that something from my system at the start of the sem (as the change im talking about). well, i knew i need to deal wi...

thesis encounters :P

January 2009 sir: ano nga pangalan mo? angel? anne: anne po sir. sir: ah anne, e sino si angel? anne: (sino nga kaya sir? hehe) last week sir: ano nga pangalan mo? anna o crystal? anne: anne po sir. sir: ah anne. dumating si kate sir: ikaw crystal? kate: sir kathleen. sir: ah kathleen ka din? kate: (sino pa po ung isa sir?) :P ON SULFURIC ACID when talking about the prosposal...

a sad day.

i was a messenger last tuesday for my mom. she asked me to whisper a message to my tita. and just this afternoon, while i was in the lab for thesis, my mother texted me that tita lita is gone. it was quite expected, since this has been her third time in the past 3 months to be hospitalized. her third time that transfusion is needed. and of the three times, maybe this was the worst. *** she has given a lot to others. to her parents, her siblings and to us, her nephews and nieces. i was able to live with her for three years during high school and i have a lot of things to thank her for. I'm not that sure if she knows how grateful i am that i was able to stay with her during those times. looking back i would not have chosen any other place to stay for high school apart from hers. no matter how far paranaque may be in manila. i would never forget the mornings where she would wake up early too since i need to be at school early and she would stay late in pnu since our classe...
